Jessica Sneeringer (Conductor, Bass Trombone)

Jessica Sneeringer is a graduate of The Ohio State Univeristy earning two Bachelor's Degrees (Music Education and Trombone Performance) as well as a Masters Degree in Music Education. Jessica has just completed her seventh year as the Director of Bands at Columbus Academy in Gahanna, Ohio, as well as her third year as the Chair of the Fine & Performing Arts Department. A member of the Central Ohio Brass Band since 1999, she was a soloist and principle trombone until 2005, when she took to the podium. Since then, COBB has enjoyed much growth, success, and critical acclaim, having won the 1st Section of the North American Brass Band Association 5 of the last 6 years. COBB has also performed at a number of prestigious festivals and contests including the Great American Brass Band Festival in Kentucky and the Butlins Mineworkers' Association Contest held in the UK.

Jessica has been a clinician, adjudicator, and coach for several outstanding student groups including Capital Univeristy's Junior Winds, The Ohio State University Marching Band, Ohio State Fair Band, and Ohio Music Educator's Association All-State Band.

Also a freelance trombonist Jessica has had the privilege of playing with many fine groups including the Disney Collegiate All-Star Band, The Athena Brass Band (which she is fortunate to have the opportunity to conduct this summer), as well as a variety of jazz bands. Mrs. Sneeringer has performed with Phil Smith, Allen Vizzutti, Nancy Wilson, Jiggs Whigham, and Frank Foster, among many other artists. Jessica makes her home in Central Ohio with her husband Jeff, their son Joshua, and their daughter Jordan.
